Terms and Community Rules

These terms apply when you use the Volty app. By using it, you agree to them.
What Volty is
Volty shows EV charging stations from Open Charge Map, a public registry kept up by volunteers, together with reports from other drivers. That information can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. A charger shown as working may not be, and prices, access and opening hours can change. Check on site, and plan with some margin.
Don’t use the app in a way that distracts you while driving.
Community rules for reports
Reports are public and anonymous. Each one should help the next driver. When you post a report or comment:
- Describe what you saw at that station: whether it works, queues, blocked bays, broken connectors.
- Don’t include personal information about yourself or anyone else, such as names, phone numbers or license plates.
- No hate, harassment, threats, sexual content, or anything illegal.
- No ads, spam, or links (links are blocked).
- Don’t post reports you know are false, and don’t flag reports just because you disagree with them.
Use the flag button on a report that breaks these rules. A report flagged by several people is hidden for everyone. We may remove any report, and limit how often anyone can post.
You keep any rights you have in what you post, and you let us show it in Volty and keep it available to other drivers.
Fair use of the service
Volty is free and runs on free services. Don’t access its servers other than through the app, scrape them, or try to get around the limits that keep it running.
No warranty
Volty is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage from using the app or relying on its information, including a charger that turns out to be unavailable.
Changes
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the effective date above; material changes will be shown in the app.
